Safe Online Trading - 6 Steps to Avoid Fraud
A few days ago I wrote an introductory article on the emergence of online B2B trading as one the most effective ways doing business globally. What I did not touch upon though, were the potential risks involved in trading through this medium. However, I intend to do that in this brief piece. Whenever I suggest people to expand their business through an online B2B portal (it has become a habit since i work for one:)) the first question they ask is "Is it Safe? Does it really work?". And then I have to go through the whole "Safe Trading" lecture for them.
So lets analyze B2B Portals from this angle - Credibility and Safety. Like any mode of business there are certain risks involved in doing business through B2B portals as well-Safety of Trade and Credibility of Buyers/Sellers being the most important. However, with certain pre-cautionary measures, these risks could be reduced considerably.
One of the most frequent problems I have seen people face is either no supply or wrong supply against their payments. The ratio gets higher when the Suppliers are based in Asia - China to be more precise. I have seen poor Americans, Brits and buyers from other European countries lose thousands of dollars against fake supplies. When I was new to this mode of business, I myself lost around $5000 to a Chinese Supplier, but i know some very good suppliers in China as well.
So why is it so? is B2B trading so unsafe? the answer is both yes and no. Now you might be wondering what that meant. But I'll list a few factors that should be kept in mind before proceeding with any business deal through a B2B Portal. Following these should eliminate most risks in online Trading.
1) Always Deal With Premium Suppliers
Yes, this is very important. Look everybody wants to make quick money. And in this age of scammers B2B portals provide the ideal hunting ground for people who want to make money without spending any. So Never ever deal with Free Suppliers. Always make sure your Supplier is a Premium Supplier, more preferably a Gold Supplier. This does not guarantee risk free transactions but it reduces the chances of fraud.
2) Study the Supplier's Profile
Make sure the supplier you are dealing with, is an active user of B2B portals and has a complete profile. By that I mean he has a detailed introduction of his company along with contact numbers and addresses. Also make sure he has professionally presented his credentials as a supplier. Serious Suppliers always work hard on the presentation of their Company.
3) Look for References
Ask the Supplier for other Buyers he has worked with. Ask him for at least 3-4 online references that can endorse his credibility as a supplier. Once he gives you some references, make sure you get in touch with them and ask for the details of their deals especially the modes of payment they adopted.
4) Ask the B2B Portal involved
Yes, you can do that as well. Ask the fraud departments of B2B portals to give you their view of the credibility of the supplier. Some B2B portals also charge for this but it is worth spending a little money to avoid any major loss. You may also browse different trading forums and ask the users about the supplier
5) Safety of Payment
LC is the safest mode of payment. Make sure you adopt it. However, for smaller deals, it is not always possible to work that way. So make sure you pay through some third party online services like Escrow. Never send payments directly to new suppliers through Direct Money Transfer Services.
6) Avoid Big Deals Initially
Never go for a huge transaction straight away. Specially with new suppliers. If possible, break your order into smaller segments. This might increase the cost of shipping to some extent but it reduces the risk considerably. However, with familiar suppliers you may go for bigger deals but be careful while doing that as well. These were some steps that I usually recommend people to consider while Trading Online. There are a few more tricks but i would leave that for some other time.

To do stock trading online, the internet has become very common. There are many websites that make you do trading through the internet. You can see all the stocks and do whatever you want to do. Online stock market trading is very interesting, but it needs to be done very carefully. One wrong click of the mouse can make you lose money. The actual process is very easy and you have to just follow it carefully. You can start with dummy accounts where you don't have to actually invest money. When you do this way, you will learn the basic of the stock trading systems and also won't lose any money.
There are a few stock trading tips that you have to look into while trading online. The first is that the prices change in a second and the dealings are not in actual time. If the internet is slow, then it will affect your trading as your trading will reach late in the stock exchange. It is always advisable to stick to your decision and not to change it at the last moment. The decision should be made well in time and sent so that it reaches the stock exchange well in time.
The unstable nature of the stock market makes it very vulnerable. It is best to study the moves of the stocks carefully. It has to be read carefully so that you don't end up losing money. When you are doing stock trading online,you have to trust your broker. However, you can't act purely on trust; you need proper statements and e-mails through which you will come to know the actual facts of your trading. If there are no factual statements of your trading accounts, then be careful and ask for them as they will be proof of your trading.
With the help of online trading you can place limit orders. It is very convenient when you don't have time to keep track of the prices of the stock. You can place limited order on stocks for buying or selling as it is based on your judgment. This way you can reap the benefits of the unpredictable session during trading time.
If you are going in for online trading you should do your research properly. There are many charges for every transaction or any other activity. Find about all of them and see what suits you best. The brokerage fee charged by the broker is one aspect of this. In addition to it there are many additional charges like commissions and fees charged for buy sell alerts, chart and other tools facility, mobile services, e-mail alerts and so on.
If you are a beginner, then you should always setup a stop loss. You should set a level of stop losses so that you don't face much risk. It is paramount to have a constant verification of the money debited/credited from your account for each trade executed because technical reasons might lead to discrepancy which cannot be avoided. Oil Rig Jobs - Should You Use Online Finder Services?
If you are interested in working in the oil fields then you are most likely aware that the majority of oil rig jobs are overseas. This can make it a little more challenging when it comes to applying for a job. When the company you want to work for is headquartered in foreign country you cannot simply fly there to fill out an application. In fact most people today are turning to online oil rig job finder services to get the employment they seek.
Why do these Companies Recruit Online?
Like many careers fields, the oil industry has been using some form of recruitment agency to fill the vacancies it has. Since many of the oil rig jobs are located overseas it makes it impractical for them to have an office in every country in the world to find qualified employees. At one time these companies placed ads in major newspapers or in some cases had recruiting fairs in major cities once a year to hire new workers.
Today, thanks to the Internet it is much easier for them to make use of online job finding services to fill the empty positions. They can use an online recruiter to fulfill several different functions including initial screening to make sure that only those who are qualified, physically able and seriously interested make it to the interview phase of the application process. This saves everyone time and money and weeds out those who are not capable of the work.
What Can an Online Recruiter do for Me?
If you are considering one of the many oil rig jobs that are still available even in today's slumping economy you will find that using an online jobs finder service is likely to be your best bet. These services are in many ways like a one stop shopping market, they have lists provided to them by the various oil companies covering which jobs they are trying to fill. This is vital information and not something that most people can find by simple research as the oil companies do not list their openings elsewhere.
Since it is the job of the recruiting company to screen all applicants seeking oil rig jobs, this is your one chance to really shine. Many of them have an online form that you will have to fill out if you want to be considered. While you may still have to send in a resume at a later date, this is the one time that you need to really pay attention and fill out the form very carefully. Make sure that you show yourself in the best possible light if you want to be considered.
The online oil rig jobs finder services are your best chance of finding work in the oil industry today. While there are still plenty of jobs to be found, the only way you are likely to find them is through one of these services. Some of them charge a fee to help you find a job and you will find that in most cases the fee will be well worth the high paying career that it will help you find. Working on the oil rigs can be a very financially rewarding career if you know how to go about getting started.

Legitimate Online Jobs - Discover How to Find Them
It can be tough these days to find any sort of well paying, regular "9 to 5" job, but thanks to the internet and the ever increasing popularity of the people who want to work from home, it's become even easier to find legitimate online jobs. Unfortunately, while it's become easier, the internet has also made it hard as well, due to the garbage and smoke screens that you have to sift through. The key to finding a traditional online job is that you need to know how to make your way through the fake job offers and discover the real legitimate online jobs that lie beneath!
Searching for a work at home job requires a little effort and diligence on your end. You need to be able to see the real work at home opportunities and know when a job listing is real. With just a little bit of time, you'll be able to find the right legitimate job online.
When seeking legitimate online jobs, for starters, you need to make sure that ANY jobs you find do not ask you for a fee upfront. Some shady and scammy websites or companies sometimes ask for fees before accepting your application to cover various expenses like background checks and application processing fees. If you've ever applied at any major corporation or big company, you already know that they do not ask for fees upfront before turning in your application, so if you see any "opportunities" like this, you need to run away quick! You should NEVER have to pay someone in order to receive employment.
Another thing you should make sure that you understand is that you know the difference between a money making opportunity and a legitimate online job. While there are some great money making opportunities and programs online, they often are advertised as a legitimate online job. While they may be legitimate and can help you earn a few bucks, they are not actually a "job", but an opportunity. If you're looking for steady and real employment with a real company, you also need to steer clear of offers like this.
As you can see, finding a legitimate job online requires more in depth research. Once you do some searching on the internet and find a real job opportunity, I would highly suggest that you research the company and its background. Doing this will ensure that the company you're looking at submitting your work history and resume to is legitimate. And it also will make you feel better and safer when you do apply.

If you are careful in the beginning there won't be any loss.

Online Share Trading - All You Need to Know
Online share trading is a recently created platform available to the retail investor to buy and sell shares by using the computer and an Internet connection. Online trading has made the buying and selling of stocks and other financial securities so easy that only by a single click of the mouse, you have either have bought or sold off your shares all from the comfort of your home, office or local cafe.
Online share trading process, though very easy to implement is unfortunately a very tricky process to earn money. It is very important to have knowledge on the stocks you trade in before you start buying and selling the shares online by yourself.
Following are a few paragraphs which will put focus on the online trading process, its benefits, do's and don'ts.
How to go about Online Share Trading?
Online share trading as discussed earlier is the trading platform which works on Internet connection. To begin Online trading all you need to have is a brokerage account, a PC connected to Internet services and appropriate trading software which is normally offered by your broker.
As the old adage says "Easier said than done" is also the case in finding a good broker to help you in online trading. In order to get a good stock broker, you first need to review and analyse all the brokerage institutions, check the options they provide, the brokerage charges and the time taken by them to process your orders. The last factor is the most important one as it determines the price at which the shares are to be bought and sold. As the stock market is very volatile, the price of stocks change from day to day basis and if your order is not processed the same day, you might end up paying more than actually quoted by you or you may end up in loss if the shares are sold at a lower price.
Also the trading platform and the internet connection are important factors. The trading platform offered should be very easy to understand, perform trading tasks and place the orders. If the software itself will be difficult to understand and operate, you might lose your hard earned money by opting for the task operation which you are not clear about.
Internet connection should be speedy enough so that it the trading software immediately captures the market fluctuations and provide you the appropriate data on time. If the speed of the internet connection itself is slow, the data cannot be provided on time and thus you can miss a great opportunity.
All these factors need to be analysed before you get registered with a particular stock broker. Once satisfied with the broker and finished with all the infrastructural requirements you can proceed with broker account opening formalities a get yourself registered with the preferred broker.

Admittedly you do not actually have to know anything about online forex in order to be an IB, however, if you take the time to learn, you will be infinitely better off.
5. Make the Most of Marketing and Promotional Materials

Online Forex Trading - What to Look For in a Good White Label ...
Online forex trading solutions are sought from a variety of brokers, money managers, and financial institutions, particularly smaller ones. One obvious option is to enter into a White Label partnership, however not all partnerships offer you the same deal.
When considering which online forex broker you should set up your white label partnership with, there are a number of important factors you should consider:
Ensure you have a competitive and guaranteed remuneration structure, preferably one that pays you when you want it, not when they want to give it to you.
Ascertain that the trading platform is user-friendly and ideally, technologically advanced such as MetaTrader4.
Make sure you are not restricted with the number of accounts you can run simultaneously. MultiTerminal and MAM systems will allow you to trade several hundred accounts at the same time.
Ensure the financial market is directly accessible.
Seek a partnership that can offer you solid advice and support from their IT department regarding the development of your website.
Ideally, your White Label Partnership will have middle and back office services available to you.
Look for a more personal service where you are allocated your own account manager.
Maintain that customer service be a priority and that communication remains available on a 24 hour basis at least 5 days per week.
Finally, ensure that your White Label partner conforms to all regulations, is recognized by the appropriate institutions and associations for the regions in which they are trading and has full compliance.
Although it may seem like a difficult task finding a White Label forex services provider that offers all the above, they do exist. By taking the extra time to ensure that you have the best available option to offer your traders, you will ultimately benefit all the more....both financially and in terms of your reputation as an online forex broker.
TracyTadawul FX has established itself as a leader in the field of online forex trading and provides Forex White Label Partnership options with all the above features. Any interested parties can contact Tadawul FX via their website for more information.

The Easiest Way to Find People Online - No HTML Skills Needed!
The easiest way to find people online is to know a name, to consider a state that the name might reside in and then to use those 26 little keys to enter that name and that state and then to step back and watch the internet work its magic.
There is now a 100% dedicate people finding search engine. It is 100% because it ONLY searches for people (which is actually a full one third of all the searches that happen on the net by the way.)
By sticking only to the finding of people, this engine becomes a pure specialist. Unburdened by having to retrieve the price of shovels in Alaska or the price of a night out in Boston with you, your niece and her 9 friends, this engine is a people finding gem.
Got someone from grammar school that just may need a ring?
How about someone that you were on the company bowling team (before the company went down the gutter--sorry, had to use that pun, it was begging to be used.)
The point is that there are people out there that have touched us as we've lived our lives and that this easiest way to find people search engine simply makes all of that ridiculously doable!
Imagine looking up someone whose homework you might have "borrowed" before seventh period. How about an old coach who may have pushed you harder than you ever thought you could be pushed? What about old loves?
Man, do we all have those!
The easiest way to find people means we can put away the old fraying address books and the tons of scraps of paper we have buried, you know, somewhere!
Now that the easiest way to find people is here, gone are all the excuses not to find them.
And that news simply could not be better...for all parties involved!

Should I Make A Website - I Don't Know HTML
Professional looking websites, it's easy to get nervous about creating your own. Especially if you don't know anything about how to build a web page. Thanks to organizations and people everywhere, you don't have to let that stop you.
Do a search, on any search engine, about HTML. For instance, you could use "HTML for beginners" or "learn HTML free". Both of those searches return great sites. Browse a few until you find one that is suitable for someone like you.
Be sure to take your time and mimic what you see the author doing. A great thing about building webpages is the ability to slowly work them up. A webpage is anything found within an opening HTML tag and a closing HTML tag. Put those on a page and presto, you have a webpage. Now you can learn how to put stuff in between those HTML tags.
A great way to learn how to build an awesome page is by learning from the experts. Those that already have pages you might admire. You can do this by "spying" on the code in their web site. To do this go to their webpage, right click on the background of the site, and click on view source. You can also click on "view" in your browser and click on page source that way as well. Now, look for keywords in their site. If you like the color of a specific word, you can search for that word on the page and see what color code it has.
Bookmark a few websites designed to teach web development. As you work on your new page it is always nice to have a quick reference for tags you don't use every day. If you don't even know what you are looking for, turn to the search engine again. I find "HTML code email" works great for finding out how to offer your email on a page. Have fun, it's your own page, be creative. You can change anything you like, nothing is permanent, except the address. That brings us to this next point. There are many sites that offer free web hosting. Those sites are great, great because they are free. However, a good portion of them, in return for offering your site a new home, place advertisements on it. There might also be restrictions on content, or how you can operate your website.
Another great alternative is buying your own domain name. Generally these are fairly inexpensive, twenty dollars or less. They offer the same great things as free web hosting sites, such as site building tools. However, they have no advertisements, no restrictions on content and you get to pick the address name. As an added plus, many offer things such as a specified number of email addresses. Some even offer affiliate programs so you could potentially have a free domain name and webpage for referring some people to the service.
So, do not feel like you could not make a good looking webpage. Thanks to the many dozens of resources on the internet today, you could make a site that will truly impress your peers. Pay attention to your new page. Make sure it works. As you grow in your own life, so will your web page. It can reflect who you are, who you were, and where you might be going.

To Understand the Success of Website Ranking
Time is a factor
To obtain positive results is not very fast to achieve. It always takes time to reach a good ranking on search engines since there are millions of web pages to be indexed in their databases. So it takes approximately between six months & one year to see ranking results according to new strategies set by search engines specifically Google, taking into consideration of doing the least effort to reach so. At frequent basis you will need to add new fresh text content & resubmit every time a significant change is done to your website. Always make sure that the submission process is done manually otherwise the automated system could lead your site to become penalized since spiders have the capability to identify them.
How search engine spiders index pages
Spiders are completely automated programs made by search engine companies in order to web crawl pages then take keywords & index them in databases to return the search results you find. The conclusion above explains that spiders do not understand anything about what your site says , they ranking system is done automatically, therefore before any submission action takes place make sure the guidelines are followed properly.
Spiders cannot recognize any images or graphics; instead you should rely on text as an alternative to be read in graphic or design areas in the page. Also make sure that the most important paragraph appears on top of the page in addition to keeping navigation simple & in text format.
Places your keywords should appear for optimized ranking.
- Title tags/ place the keywords in your title tag that match the ones placed in your text content.
- File names
- Meta tags/in terms of the keyword & description tags, although search engines do not put intense emphasis on them, they are still important to be taken into consideration. Make paragraph short & concise & always place keywords existing in your text.
- Alt tags/ represented in the form of text placed on image, since spiders cannot interpret any image therefore placing text keywords is the alternative.
- Frames/ if they are essential then you need to place tag in your HTML code.

How Do I Convert a PDF File to HTML?
Before we look into how to convert a PDF file to HTML, let us take a quick look at what these terms mean. PDF is an acronym for Portable Document Format, a proprietary file format developed by Adobe Systems. Files in this format have a .pdf extension. This format makes two-dimensional documents portable - a PDF will look the same regardless of the hardware or Operating System. PDF is very popular in desktop publishing. Reading PDF files is facilitated by Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available as a free download from Adobe Systems. Creating PDF documents may require you to buy the software from the makers.
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and the files have a .html or a .htm extension. HTML is a language for describing the structure, semantics and the appearance of a document. HTML is mainly used to render web pages in browsers like Internet Explorer and Mozilla. The popularity of HTML can be attributed to the World Wide Web which has millions of web pages residing in servers and transferred whenever a surfer requests a page.
If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can still view PDF files as HTML pages as every computer comes with a web browser capable of handling HTML files.
There are many software packages available today that allow you to convert PDF files to HTML. One easy way to convert PDF documents to HTML is though the Adobe Systems website - You need to have the PDF file uploaded to a website as the URL of the PDF file is required for conversion. Once the file is converted it is displayed in your web browser.
Another way to convert PDF documents to HTML is to locate a good freeware, shareware or commercial software package to do the conversion for you. The problem with freeware or shareware conversion tools may be the inclusion of advertisements in the resulting HTML file or a restriction on the number of pages that can be converted.
Most converters either do a straight PDF to HTML conversion or convert the PDF document to an intermediate format like MS-word format or Rich Text Format (RTF) and then convert to HTML.
Some converters extract the text alone from the PDF documents and return it to you as a text file. In this case, if you know how to use HTML, you can edit this text file using notepad and add the required html tags and save the file with a .html extension. This will allow you to view the contents as a web page but there may be considerable conversion loss.

How to Build a Website With HTML in 30 Seconds - Part 2
OK, in the first part of this guide, you learned how to create a simple webpage with HTML in a text editor. Now we're going to add a simple navigation menu and the "subpages" to create a real, bona-fide, webSITE.
Step 1. Anywhere between the body tags of your website, add the following:
Navigation Menu:HomePage 1Page 2Step 2. Now you need to make 2 copies of your homepage, which you will then rename and turn into your website's subpages. You can highlight the index.html file and press Ctrl-C to copy and then Ctrl-V twice to paste it two times. Alternatively, you can hold down the Control key while clicking and dragging the index.html file, just as if you were going to move it, but it will create a clone of your file instead. Do this twice. Now, rename these two new files as page1.html and page2.html.
Step 3. In your text editor, use File > Open to open one of the new subpages. Change the body text from "This is the homepage" to something like "Welcome to Page 1!" It doesn't matter what, as long as it's different. Save it. Repeat for page 2.
You're done! If you open your index.html file with your web browser, you will see the navigation menu, and you can click on any of the links to navigate around your site, including going back to the home page.
Now, I know what you're thinking! "This looks like crap." Well, this was only a primer. Stay tuned for part 3, where you will learn where to get good looking websites already created for you that you can then edit just like you did in this course.

Styling Accessible HTML Forms
Styling Accessible HTML Forms
Still designing HTML forms using tables? You will be happy to know there is a better way to design forms. HTML has enough elements to enable you to design stylish forms without resorting to the often-used table element. Besides the usual input (input, select, textarea) elements, you also have the fieldset, label, and legend elements. By using these elements, you enhance the accessibility of your forms without any extra effort on your part. A word about these three often neglected elements...
The fieldset element is a structural container for form elements. You can use it to group your form elements in a logical manner. For example, for a feedback form, you could group a user’s name and address in one fieldset, and the feedback questions in another fieldset.
Being a block level element, by default, the fieldset box extends the full width of its container. Like other elements, you can set its width property to a more suitable value.
Browsers typically draw a border around the element to enhance its visual appeal.
It's good practice to add a title to each fieldset group to explain what the group is all about. The standards-compliant way of doing this is to use the legend element. You place this immediately after the opening tag of the fieldset element. If the fieldset element has a border, the legend will be nicely placed on the top border.
The label element is a container for the label associated with an input element. You can assign a label to an input element in two ways:
wrap the input element inside the label elementFirst Name:
use the id attribute to bind the label to the input element using the for="inputElementId" attribute
First Name:
You could use the for="inputElementId" attribute even for the first method, but it's not necessary. Also, normally you set the input element name to be the same as the element id (except for checkboxes and radio buttons ). I have made them different here just for illustration. It's a good idea to always use the label element to help users determine the purpose of the form element.
On Styling The Form
The fieldset, label, and legend elements can be styled using CSS. That’s how you can make your form come alive. The mark-up for the form is simple, and might look like this:
About YouYour name
Email address
The form styles might be:
fieldset {
border: 1px solid green;
padding-left: 5px;
padding-right: 5px;
margin: 5px;
}
label {
display: block;
font-weight: bold;
}
legend {
color: green;
}
This makes each fieldset have a green border which is 1px wide, and a green fieldset heading ("About You"). The label (e.g. "Email" ) will be in bold font. The ‘display: block’ rule forces the label elements to display in individual rows.
For more detailed examples of form styling, see the resources box.
The accesskey Attribute
To enable easy navigation to elements using the keyboard, HTML also defines the accesskey attribute. This is used to define a single character which can be used to give focus to the element or to activate a link. The HTML 4 standard and most browsers support the attribute for some elements which include input and textarea.
The accesskey is a bit troublesome for a number of reasons – see Using Accesskeys – Is it worth it? and Accesskey Problems Remain In Xhtml 2 for some discussions on this topic. For Firefox users, you might find the thread Firefox 2 and Accesskeys interesting.
The problems with accesskey aside, to include it in your forms is very simple. Here is an example which defines the letter "n" as the keyboard shortcut for the fname input element.
To use the shortcut on Windows you generally need to press Alt+n to give the focus to this element.

Note: The code above has extra spaces around the '<' and the '>' - this should be removed when you try the code.

Using Perl to Convert Hyperlinks and Filenames to Lowercase
Like a lot of web developers, I'm not always that disciplined when it comes to the file naming convention I use and I sometimes end up with a situation whereby I have some files that are in lowercase, some that begin with a capital, and some that are a bit of a mixture.
One web site I maintain contains about 2000 web pages and has about 20,000 hyperlinks. As you can imagine, I had one of those sinking feelings when I was told that in order to migrate the web site to a new content management system, all the file names and hyperlinks would need to be changed to lowercase.
Whenever I am presented with a problem like this, my instinct is always to write a Perl script using one or more regular expressions to solve the problem. This particular situation was no exception.
Change a string to lowercase
The following regular expression changes all the characters in a string to lowercase. The first part of the regular expression finds a hyperlink, and the second part converts the string. (Just in case this article is not displayed correctly, there should be a single backslash in front of the 'L$1').
1. $line =~ s/
Change a filename to lowercase
Likewise, changing a filename itself is very simple. The following two lines perform the task quite nicely:
1. use File::Copy;
2. move ("$name", "L$name");
(Again, there should be a single backslash in front of the 'L$name'.)
If you need more information on how to incorporate the above code snippets into a complete script, feel free to contact me directly.

An Introduction to HTML - Learning the Basics
Understanding HTML
Anyone who is considering creating their own website will need to learn at least some basic HTML coding. There are many tools available that can help you design and create your own website, but without a good understanding of at least some basic HTML, even a basic webpage can quickly get out of hand. Understanding web page layout and the underlying HTML codes that make it work will greatly benefit you in modifying and maintaining your web pages.
So, What is HTML?
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. Simply put, it is a grouping of codes, known as Markup Tags, that are used to compose a web page. These codes instruct your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, Firefox, etc.) how to display the contents of your web page in the browser window. HTML files must have a file extension of .htm or .html to function properly, and can be created and edited with any standard text editor. Web design tools make this task easier by letting you design your page in a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface, while it creates and assembles the underlying HTML codes for you.
Markup Tags and Document Structure
Markup tags are simply the HTML codes that instruct your web browser how to display the contents of your web page. Tags usually come in pairs with an opening tag and a closing tag, and are enclosed with the " " characters, called angle brackets. Closing tags also have a forward slash " / " preceding the tag to mark it as a closing tag. Now, let's look at some basic tags that should be including in every web page.
Document Tags
Document tags are used to define the structure of your HTML document. There are four basic document tags described below, and they should always be included in every web page you create.
Note: For proper formatting of this article I have removed the angle brackets that surround all HTML tags. Be sure to add the angle brackets when using these tags.
html and /html
The html tag is used to tell the browser that everything between the opening html tag and the closing /html tag is an html document. Every web page should begin and end with these tags.
head and /head
HTML pages normally have a "head" and a "body." The head will typically contain descriptive information about your web page, such as it's title and author.
title and /title
Every HTML file should have a title enclosed in title tags. This title will usually show up on the title bar of your web browser when the page is displayed, and should include a short description of the page that is being displayed. The title tags should be included within the "head" of your HTML document.
body and /body
The body and /body tags are used to enclose the main content of your web page. This is where you will place the main content that will display in the web browser window, whether it is text, images, titles, tables, links, or whatever content you include.
HTML Elements
"HTML Elements" is another term you will hear frequently when people speak of web page design. An HTML Element simply consists of an opening tag, content, and a closing tag. For example, a body element might look like this:

HTML email is a popular tool that can enhance email being sent to potential customers, but there are pitfalls to avoid. Utilizing HTML jazzes up emails, and offers a variety of options for bringing the content to life for the savvy reader. But, it is possible to overdo a good thing, read on for what can go wrong.
First, because of the fact that there are so many options in HTML, it is easy to get carried away with utilizing too many options at once. Too many clashing page background colors, different and hard to read fonts, too dark or too light images are distracting for the reader. It is always better to keep the content and HTML images and fonts simple to allow the reader not to be overwhelmed with it all.
Second, although there are plain text options available for readers who receive HTML email messages, it is not always easy for them to convert the email to a more compatible program. Many times the HTML is not compatible with their system, and makes frustration for the reader who just wanted to read a plain text. Be aware of this problem, and do not overburden the reader with too many options. Make a point of adding small paragraphs with instructions on what to do to convert simple texts if necessary.
Third, consider the layout of the entire page when utilizing HTML. Does the HTML appear at the bottom of the text, or on the sides out of the main areas? The reader should not have to scroll down excessively or to move sideways to see the entire text with the HTML added to get the point of the email. Images should fit neatly and squarely on the webpage, and plan that readers who are in a hurry will not spend extra time trying to navigate difficult pages just to get to interesting HTML content.
Fourth, understand that some HTML will carry viruses, and those can be transmitted to unwary readers. Before attaching images in HTML emails, test the images yourself to ensure that the links work properly, and that the pages are not directed to unknown or closed sources. Nothing is more frustrating for a reader of your HTML message than to be directed to another page through the hyperlink, then to be frozen there, unable to return, backspace or refresh to get out of black hole that results.
Finally, understand that some HTML messages come in as jumbled code and symbols, making the recipient think that a virus is attached to the email. To avoid this problem, know who you are sending it to, and understand the position of those who prefer not to get these types of emails.
Utilizing HTML is a way to augment your text and provide interesting links within the emails you send to your readers online. Avoid the pitfalls, and the reader will have fun interacting with your text, getting definitions and images while reading your content.

How To Design Your Own Web Page & Learn HTML Free - Top Tips To Help You Design Your Own Web Page
You may easily become overwhelmed when you are learning how to design your own web page. Web design presents information graphically on the Internet through Web sites and Web applications for a variety of purposes from commercial to personal. This article will discuss the elements of web design and its goals and purposes. It will also describe different types of web sites that require specific design elements and current trends in web design.
Web design content is organized by a variety of languages and media. The most popular languages when learning how to design your own web page are HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and the most recent language, XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language).
HTML is the original and primary authoring language for creating documents on the World Wide Web. It creates the layout and structure of web pages by using tags and attributes. Tags are commands within a document that specify format. Tags also specify hypertext links, which allow users to move to other web pages with the click of a mouse, thereby maneuvering through the web according to specific needs. Each tag appears in brackets. For example, the basic structure of an HTML document beginspecific content BODY>.
There is an entire language of other tags to further specify the format and layout of the page. Attributes further define the formatting properties of an HTML tag, such as the properties of a table that might be included in a tag. CSS is a feature added to HTML to give designers and users more control over how a page is displayed. Style sheets are files that define the layout of a page. They are like templates that define the stylistic parameters of a page such as page, size, fonts, and margins. They are particularly useful because the same style sheet can be applied to many different documents. The 'cascading' element of CSS's stems from the fact that several style sheets can be applied simultaneously to the same web page, thereby further specifying the details of the layout.
